This is the most important position a volunteer can do for the museum.
Interpretive Guide program is a year-round program (January–December) that provides the opportunity to learn about animals and nature, meet other volunteers with similar interests and take an active role in our community. We seek positive, responsible, enthusiastic adult with an interest in learning about wildlife and conservation and who can interact with museum visitors.
Interpretive Guides work a 2.5 hour shift during scheduled tours.. They are an integral part in the museums mission of connecting people with wildlife. Interpretive Guides help:
- Provide educational programming to museum guests of all ages.
- Answer questions and provide information about live animal and natural history exhibits.
- Care for the museum's collection of domestic animals.
- Lead children's activities in the Discovery Room.
- Conduct tours for groups of all ages.
If you think you would like to pursue a volunteer interpretive guide position with the museum please call or email the museum.
